Ripped off by Lawley Chevrolet Car Dealership

See at the bottom my first correspondence to 9 on your side and work your way up to todays letter. No one wants to help, i am disabled handicapped and on a fixed income. All i want is a reliable car that is not going to bleed me to death.

Well here we go again an oil leak which there is no way they wouldn't see this puddle of oil under the car before they sold it and now i had to get it fixed and it cost me $130.00 which takes away from my disability check even more. Now with this cost and the car payment and rent i must live on about $40.00 a week for the whole month. Now here comes another problem yesterday i get into the car and the driver's side power window won't work here comes more repairs. Please contact me and help me i don't know who else to turn too. I have heard nothing but good things about your organization. Please help!

I just had to take the pontiac back today it kept saying add coolant and when lawley checked the coolant it was full but the car was overheating, they have it now and as i told you before mr stoney told me they would add on the 24 month extended warranty since i was on a fixed income and have no extra money, then when all the contracts were signed they couldn't do the warranty and even took out the alarm that was build into the car. He said the bank wouldn't finance it with the warranty and alarm.

Since my letter to you, Lawley Chevy called and took the Cadillac as a trade for a 1995 pontiac grand am. But even after all the unfair treatment I still had to come up with $1000 down, my car a larger car payment and still 26% interest. Also by the way since I wrote to you I took the Cadillac in for a tune up and it needed all new belts and fuel filter, it ran one day and stopped, I took it back to Goodyear and they got it to run only for the next day the transmission went out and costs me $750 to replace plus the $209 from Goodyear and the next day after the transmission was put in it stopped running. I can't prove they did anything wrong to make this happen but my car ran pretty good before this so called tune up. I feel Lawley should have made me a little better offer since they just advertised last night any car on the lot for $167 a month. Mine is $225 a month for four years. I don't know if anything else can be done.

When I bought my Cadillac from Star Chevrolet before Lawley Motors bought them out, everyone seemed real nice and honest and I have a witness to what I am about to say. I agreed to the 26% interest on the loan thru Bank One for a 1988 Cadillac Deville Brougham, gave $1500 down payment and have payments of spoke to me today and asked me what I wanted them to do ab180.05 monthly for 30 months.

Mr. Jack Lemon, who still works for Lawley now out all the
problems I am having with this car (by the way today the transmission went).

This Mr. Lemmon told me in front of my witness if I make my payments on time for 10 to 12 months I could get the car refinanced and lower my interest and payments so at the 12 month point I tried to do so and Bank One after getting a good laugh at my expense tell me Mr. Lemmon lied to me the car is too old for refinancing. When I bought the car I was also told one
owner and in very good shape, after a few days every time I drove it you could smell a burning odor under the hood so I took it back and Mr. Lemon told me it was the kerosene they detailed the engine with, so I waited and after a month or so I took it back and it was a fuel leak and they fixed it but since them only having the car one year I had to replace all four tires
(one was even a retread and I blew the tire going to Douglas on 30 May which was a retreat which are suppose to be eligible in this state, I also had a witness with me when the tire blew), I had to replace the air conditioner motor, over $400 dollars for intake/outtake gaskets, belts, hoses, sensors and now it still smells when I drive it and now it won't
start someday until after it sets for a while, one person said it is the ground wire from the battery to the starter and someone else tells me it is the map sensor.

I am now retired on a medical disability and live on a
fixed income. I have begged the bank to lower my payments or even extend out the loan at 26% to lower my payments. Because of all these repair bills and the fixed income I couldn't't even have Thanksgiving for my family and Christmas is not going to be much better. I heard thru the grapevine that since Lawley bought out Star that you were making good on some of the bad
deals Star Chevrolet made.

Also know for the last year or so all my papers say Cadillac Deville and I found out just a couple of months ago when getting a wheelchair lift put on the it was a Fleetwood. Please see what
you can do to help me, I am at the wits end and since they are no longer in business can't reach anyone that used to work there. Also I think Goodyear should be investigated for bad practices especially on women coming into the garage alone. When I thermostat light came out I figured it needed replaced
so I went to Goodyear because I heard good things about them. Well time I left I paid over $400 dollars for intake, outtake gaskets and a bunch of other work.

The car ran one day and staled out and I had to take it back, they admitted they did't connect some pressure value correctly and then it ran two days and I had to take it back again. Now this week for the topper I called Goodyear because they had the best price for a tune up so I take the car in, they do the tune up and then call me telling me I need all belts replaced and a new fuel filter total instead of $72 dollars $209 plus change. I drive the car off the lot and the first morning it dies out on
the highway and has to be towed back the shop.

The owner Ernie says because the old fuel filter was so old some particles broke out and got into the fuel line which was making it stall out. Well this morning 31 Jan I warmed up the car put in into reverse and when I put in into drive it hesitated a little but then took out, I got one block and it cut off. I could get into reverse but not drive it just sit there. I got a ride home and called Ernie at Goodyear and he sent the mechanic to pick it up when he then tells me $1200 for a rebuilt transmission. I honestly believe that somehow some of that particles he spoke of getting in the fuel line could have caused the damage.

I don't believe he will ever admit to it but my car ran great
before the tune up. Thank you for your time. Oh I also spoke to someone named Joe in Cadillac office at Lawley Motors a month ago and he told me to bring the car in and see if you could
do something and use it for a trade in but I have been in and out of the hospital and Life Care Center and didn't't get a chance And then the next time we tired to get together the car was in Tucson getting a wheel chair lift put on.

I feel this is a good case for investigation.
