Dealer rippoff, Sean Lawley is only a figment of your imagination, actually he runs the biggest lemonade stand ripoff business from hell

In June 1999 I purchased a 1997 Chevy extended cab truck form Lawley Chevrolet. After the transaction was complete I drove approxiamately 3 miles and the "check engine" light came on. I took it back immediately and was told that the vehicle had been parked in the showroom for some time and that thelight coming on was normal.

I was told that it would go off after I had driven it for a few miles. The next day I called back and asked for my trade-in back and told them I was bringing the truck back because I had a bad feeling.

The sales manager rold me that they would take a look at it and fix the problem and that I could not have my trade in back because it had already been taken to auction. This was at 9 am the next day. I brought the truck back and it was in the shop for one week. I was without a vehicle for that week. When I went to pick it up, I was taken back into the shop and was told by the mechanic that their diagnostic equipment had pinpointed the problem to the transmission and that they had taken it completely apart and had not found any metal shavings whick was supposed to be consistent with a faulty transmission. He told me that they did not know what had caused the problem but that it was fixed.

The truck was returned to me and I drove ten miles and the light came back on. I could not take the truck back because it was late and I knew the dealership was closed. The next day I called back and spoke to the sales manager again and was very adamant about returning thevehicle and getting my old one back.

He finally talked me into bringing it bac in and told me that they would put a new transmission in it. During our heated conversation, I asked to speak with Mr. Lawley and was told he was not available. I told the sales manager that if I did not speak with Mr. Lawley, the better business bureau would be speaking to him and he finally told me that Mr. Lawley would speak to me when I brought the truck back. When I got there, of course Mr. Lawley had left for the day. The sales manager was not the pleasant man who had talked us itnot buying the truck, he was downright nasty.

I demanded a rental and was reluctantly given one after being ingore d for 45 minutes. Two weeks later I got a call to go pick up the truck.in the interim I had attempted to speak with Mr. Lawley 6 more times and he was either not available or did not return my calls as was promised. When I arrived, The keys, to therental were immediately taken from me and I was told to take all my belongings out of it. It was taken away and I was led into the sale managers office. He told me that a new transmission was put in the vehicle.

I asked for a warranty and he told me that they could not offer a warranty because they had already fixed the vehicle once and that they had already lost a lot of money on me. He also informed me that I owed them $480 for labor because they were nice enough to pay for the new transmission. No, I did not kiss his feet for his generosity.

I insisted on speaking with Mr. Lawley and was told that he did not want to talk with me. The sales manager then told me that I would have to produce a check, credit card, or cash in order for them to give me the truck back and that I had to do it "now" or he would call the police and have me removed from the premises. It was raining and I had my 8 year old son with me, which by the way was extremely frightened by this rude man. Ther was no way I could walk back to Bisbee so I gave him my debit card. I left and came home and closed my account.

The joke's on you Mr. Lawley! Wrong! It has been 3 years and the check engine light is still on. I was told this was a one owner vehicle and that the sales manager new the previous owner personally and that all the miles were highway miles. I am afraid to take it back to Lawley's for fear of losing the vehicle.

I cannot afford to have another transmission put in it and don't think I should have to.in the last three years I have tried countless times to speak to Mr. Lawley to no avail. Just once, before I die, i would like to see the real Sean Lawley in person and ask him how he can sleep at night. He protrays himself as a family man in his comercials, with pictures of his children and wife in the background.

What kind of example is he setting for his children or is he breeding a whole new tribe of extortionists? After the fact, I find out that my supervisor, Ruth Kish, was also victim of the famous Lawley transmission transaction, only she paid him. And a young lady that works in our medical records department responded to his zero percent interest offer and was nearly ripped off.

She was to purchase a $20,000 vehicle and when it came time to sign the papers she noticed that the total amount she would be paying was $38000. She asked what the additional $18000 was for since she was told that the vehicle would be purchased at zero percent finacing. They told her it was for tax and licenses. Give me a break. Sales tax in Sierra Vista is 7.4%. Or does Lawleyville have their own personal tax rate?
