These guys are crooks. They charged me over $900 in the Summer of '08 to repair my intake gasket, which I admit is a proper fee.
HERE IS MY COMPLAINT: I didn't learn until later after my engine had blown and after I had sold my car to a mechanic for scrap that Mr. Tire's workmen had filed down the gasket rim, causing metal shavings to enter the engine compartment. When I complained, the manager Ron Jones said his "ASE" mechanic would not have performed such underhanded work and that they were not responsible for my car.
No one else could have caused this! What are the odds my engine would blow only three weeks after the "repair" (which independent mechanics say was the cause of my engines death) while casually driving down the highway?! It doesn't take a genius to do the math here. Between the value of the car and the cost of the shoddy workmanship I paid for at Mr. Tire, I am out about $5000. These guys stunk when they were Craven Tire and they stink now as Mr. Tire. Caveat emptor!!!
