I was sold an unnecessay warranty (7yrs) by Crystal Automart, Hyundai dealership upon servicing noted the car still had a 5yr full coverage warranty. I called Crystal (Mark Wilson), he stated I had to call the Warranty Company to cancel policy. I contacted Universal Underwriters on 10/22 @ 1240pm. Spoke with Melody (1-888-835-5063 x1452). I faxed her all information she needed to cancel my contract (#c036988). She noted that Crystal Had not even activated any warranty for my vehicle.
She issued a check at that time for $1100 to Crystal who were to apply the money to Ford Motor Credit. I called Melody the next week and she noted that Crystal recieved the check on 10/23. I called Mark Wilson at Crystal and he was very short with me ("I'll take care of it"... Click!) and upon succesive phone calls in later days and weeks, would just hang up in my face or put me on hold infinitely.
I had Universal Underwriters to call and find out the status of their check and if I could get some check number or anything; Melody called me and said Mark Wilson hung up in her face also. After this incident I demanded to speak to the owner; since then I have been in contact with Mr. David Horowitz who has not hung up in my face, but will provide no answers and is very short also ("I'll take care of it"... Click!).
Soon it will be three (3) months with no credit to my Auto loan account at Ford Motor Credit. I have been paying interest on that $1100 which I do not owe. They have stolen my money! Please help me! These guys are very rude and are succesfully keeping money that needs to be credited to my auto finance company and I am the one suffering!
Please don't let them get away with this, I do not want this to happen to anyone else, it is truly a terrible feeling. I even wrote them a letter sent certified mail (recieved 11/16 requesting a call back, and they ignored that also.
I have even faxed them on numerous occasions. On 01/20/02 I called David Horowitz, He said I was out of luck, he has the check but they are going to keep it!
