Tires Plus
Their employees take parts of your vehicle, and you don't get them back

My husband recently had a slow leak in his passenger side tire that needed to be repaired. We replaced his tire with a spare, assuming we would only need to use it for a day, and brought the wheel & tire into "Tires Plus" for the work.

When we dropped the wheel & tire off, the associate who was helping us looked at the tire, said it wouldn't be a problem to fix it, and assured us it would be ready to pick up in the morning. We left a phone number we could be reached at in the event that it wouldn't be ready for any reason.

We did not recieve a phone call.

When we went back into "Tires Plus" to pick up the tire and wheel the next day, we were informed that the tire could not be repaired and that we would have to get a new one to replace it. They would not give us our old tire back. There's no way of knowing whether or not the tire was, indeed, irrepaiarable but given the nature of how they run this location, I am certain we would have been able to fix it elsewhere.

They also informed us that while they had parts of our vehicle in their shop that they had lost the entire wheel for his car. Since we could not place a new tire on without the wheel, we were forced to wait until they were able to "make it right" and replace the wheel they had "lost" (we later discovered that one of the associates "thought" it was "junk" and took it). We were told that the wheel would be ready to pick up the next day.

*They also tried to get us to "throw in a couple new tires while we were there". We informed them that because of the situation we would not be giving them any of our money.

We did not recieve a phone call the next day to inform us that, yet again, they were unable to replace the wheel that day. When we called, we asked for the district manager's name and phone number. We later found out that the phone number the store gave to us was not, after all, the number for the district manager, but rather a number that allows customers to leave messages for the store itself. (Ensuring problems never leave their management level).

*The man I spoke to at their corporate office was not able to "confirm or deny" that the number I was given went back to the store but he did assure me that it definitely was not the number for the district manager.

After three days without a part, I was able to contact their corporate headquarters in Florida (due in full to my own research). I filed a complaint with them but the man I spoke to was not able to offer any solutions.

So far, more than 6 days after the initial incident, we still have not found a resolution and my husband is still driving on a spare tire unable to place a new tire on his vehicle.

The associates and manager at this "Tires Plus" location are unapologetic and unwilling to "make things right" for mistakes that they create.

If my husband were to have an accident and die from driving on a spare tire for an extended length of time, Tires Plus would be held accountable for involuntary manslaughter. They didn't seem to understand how important this was when I told them this over the phone.

They also don't bat an eye on a threat to contact the better business beareau. Perhaps they've gotten used to these kinds of incidents taking place at their location.

It's absolutely absurd for this company to allow mistakes such as this to take place. There is no reason why associates should be permitted to take customer's property off premisis. We certainly won't be spending any of our money at Tires Plus, even if they ever do decide to replace the part of our vehicle that they "lost".

We offered to go to the local Hyndai dealership to get a new part for our vehicle but they were insitant on replacing it themselves. I am certain that the part we will be getting will not be new. Perhaps it will come from another unsuspecting customer whose parts are "accidently" "misplaced" by Tires Plus.
