Received an ad in the mail detailing a $5,000 trade-in for purchasing any sales vehicle. We then researched the dealer's inventory and found a pick-up truck that was listed on their web site for $4,895 the day before the sale.
We then went to the dealership that same day and found the same truck was listed for the sale at an adjusted price of $6,995. When we went to trade in our car the day of the sale, they then increased the price of the truck to $9,995.
Basically false advertising, price fixing, you name it. They used the false ad as a loss leader and just bumped up the price of the car as they saw fit. They did not want to accept the trade-in for our vehicle and adjusted the price in order to get their original price that we saw on the Internet.
