BP - Southport Amoco doubles transaction charge before applying fuel perks discount

A grocery chain (Roundy's) was offering special rewards points to be used at selected BP gas stations. I had my perks card scanned at this station to discount price per gallon. Before applying the discount, the cashier doubled the charge of the purchase. I initially thought it was an error and offered to show the employee the gallons and charge shown on the pump, which was half of what appeared on the charge. She refused and told me to take it up with my credit card company. However, since the incorrect and inflated charge was on the original receipt, this would do no good.
