On Aug. 1, I rented a car from Toyota Rent A Car, after a minor "fender bender". I had it from Aug. 1 at 5:23 PM until Aug. 2 at 4:30 PM.
I was charged $60.93 (including tax). It seems, according to them, I had the car for 2 calender days, at $23.99 per day.
I was probably told this, along with all their other conditions ie: no smoking in the car, etc., but since I had rented cars before, and was charged for 24 hour periods, I paid little attention to their LONG speel. There was a "C" under charges in the contract, which I assume means "calander days".
I have called their major competitors in the Houston area (Alamo, Avis, Enterprise, and they all bill in 24 hour increments!
Then remember, they rent the car again, at say 5 PM, so they get paid DOUBLE for that day!!!
Isn't this "double-dipping"?
Stay away from TOYOTA RENT A CAR in Houston if you don't want to put up with their "calander day" foolishness!!!
