I, * *, am just stating for the record all the recent lies, deception, added expenses and poor customer service my wife and I experieced at Ourismans Volkswagon of Laurel.
My wife and I, had just moved to the Laurel M.D. Area from the central North Carolina area. Our move was unlike any other that we have made. While moveing, our 1997 V.W. Jetta stoped on us enroute. We had the car towed to Ourisman V.W. For service and trouble-shooting. Added to our recent short-comeing with the move I also had to start work ASAP.
My wife latter went to the dealership and filled out paper work for the car. My wife reported to me that she was immediately ignored and decieved. When she asked was their a courtesy vehicle that would take her home she was told their wasn't one. Latter we found out from our neighbor that their was one. The dealership called us two days latter with a price quote on the car. We were told the timeing belt was the only problem found. The price qouted was extremly high.
Ourisman Volkswagen of Laurel quoted my wife a price of $1100 dollars for the replacement of a timeing belt, which was the only problem found. My wife replied, "my husband will call you with authorization to begin working on the car from his job." I did not call the dealer until the following day. Once I called, I was told they had already begun work on the car and they would be finished possiably within the next day.
I replied, "NO ONE! Gave you authourization." and they did not answer my question.instead, I was put on hold then when the manager returned to the phone I was then told if the car was not picked up within the time it was finished the policy of the dealership was to charge a fee of 35$ dollars per day until the car was picked up.
My wife and I were very confused and unhappy with the situation however, we also really needed the car back. We decided the price was to steep but we came up with the extra money and my wife was going to pick the car up the next day. I decided to call once I was at work to discuss payment arrangements. I was told by the service manager the car was not fixed because they could not get it running and the price was now a total of 2400$ dollars. I immediately disagreed with the service manager and told him to stop working on the car. Meanwhile, my wife was heading down to the dealership to pay for the repairs of the car. Once she arrived, the car was driven around to her and she was given the keys and told it was ready. My wife reported to me the service manager then came in the room from lunch or something and in a hasten told her "No mame your cars not ready yet theirs been a mistake its running but it's not running well." He then had my wife taken home by a courtesy vehicle.
My wife told me what happened. I then called the dealership and told them to not touch my car and that I would be picking it up ASAP and I did not care where they were with the service process and that I just wanted to get it away from them. Latter I was told by a friend I payed to much for the timeing belt replacement. I called to the same dealership annoymously and reported the same problem and was quoted a price of a little over 500$ dollars for the entire repair.
Ourisman Volkswagen deceived and brutally lied to my wife and I repeatedly on more than one occassion and I would like this to be looked into further if possible.
