Purchased a certified 2000 toyota corolla. Before driving one thousand miles the vehicle consumed 1 qaurt of oil. The service dept. Was contacted, and I was instructed to bring the car to the sevice dept. To check for leaks. This was done and no leaks were found my wife brought the car home with no further instructions, but was told this was normal if different brands of oil was used.
After the consumption of oil did not lessen, I again contacted the dealership and brought the car back for service. I was told nothing wrong could be found and that we would have to wait and see what the toyota warranty dept. Wanted to do. Aftern waiting three days I was contacted and told this was normal for a car to use one qaurt of oil every 1200 miles.
I was then told a representative from the warranty dept. Would be in clanton in January and for me to bring it in then. I feel this is a sad response to a serious problem but am helpless at this time to do more than wait.
