In August of I bought a 2002 trail blazer from menlove toyota. Today 7/24/08 the car is currently at Freeway transmission for failed transmission. $2400 dollars worth out of my pocket.
Prior to this I have encounter a series of problems with the car in a span of 11 months.
Three days off the lot my engine was overheating... They said that I needed to put fluids in and yet it came off their lot supposedly fully inspected. After arguing with them and being transfered to so many different managers they finally agreed to take the car in. The Head Gasket was cracked.
Two months later, the back rear lights went out and my wife and kids dodged a fatal accident. According to my wife "a car almost rear ended us because the lights didnt work". She panic and took the car to nearby shop (jiffy lube). They told her that there are several recalls on this model. They (Menlove) should have fixed this already. We took it in to dealership and they fixed the recall.
Three weeks later, the trailblazer died on the freeway, dodging traffic and veering towards the right. We found out from a auto shop that we took it to, that the battery cell was completely dead and that this could ruin the computer system in the car or short circuit a lot of computer components, if not already.
Finally 4 months later on our way to Thanksgiving point to take the kids out, a grinding loud bang noise came from the car. We stop again in the middle of the road. We tried to reverse the car and it grinded. We couldnt get a tow truck out to us in time. We drove the car to Freeway Transmission shop that we saw alongside of the road.
We are paying for a $13,000 trailblazer that has consistently gave us problems. I have spent a total of $5895 on towing, mechanical problems, engine and service. Not to mention that my family risked death on the highway due to creed. We will never buy a car from Menlove again. They have done everything to make my life a living hell. Thank you Menlove Toyota.
