Do not buy a car from here

Do not buy a car from Middle River Auto Sales.

In I brought a Jeep Cherokee through their finance here, pay here arrangement. Basically put a deposit down, and make weekly payments to them, a sort of easy car loan right?

Three months later, and a change of finances we made arrangements to voluntarily surrender the vehicle. The weekend before the surrender date they tried to repro the car in broad daylight, with an amateur hack that was so experienced he tried to drive off with the crook lock on!!! Causing right hand front side damage to the vehicle.

The following Monday the vehicle was surrendered, and we thought that was the end of the matter. We were informed by the Dealer that the deposit, and monies paid to that point would be considered a 'rental' fee and we would not see that back.

One year later, I get a summons to court by Middle River Auto Sales to pay off the loan I took out for the vehicle. Pay it of be sued? I had voluntarily surrendered the vehicle and no longer owned it? And I had thought it was a loan taking out with the dealership, which had suddenly morphed into a loan with a florida bank?

Not knowing what to do, and thinking I might actually owe the money I entered into an agreement with them at the courthouse on the day of the court date. I agreed to pay $50 a month until the debt was serviced in full.

One year later, still paying off at $50 a month when I get a letter from the court saying the judgement had been dismissed. Which I think means I no longer had to pay it, so I stopped thinking that Middle River Auto Sales had closed down, or finally been put out of business.

I was wrong...

Two days ago I discover my bank account frozen and an attempt by Middle River Autos to empty it. On contacting them I further discover that they are going after me for all of the debt, and because of the agreement I entered in with them to pay it off I had default and its an automatic judgement.

My reply was a simple it was dismissed by court, which I was met by you in breach of your agreement and that is a judgement.

Now I don't pretend to understand it completely, but if I had been in breach of non-payment with my agreement with them, why didn't they simply send a letter saying you missed a payment we are going to enter a judgement against you if you don't start paying again?

The answer is simple, they want you to default, this is how they make there money.

Upon checking judicial records there are approx 450 other customers of Middle River Auto Sales who are in the same boat, or have been sued for loan they took out on their vehicle using there Buy here, pay here agreement.

I'm not fighting them in court, I don't know what my chances are, but I need to get my bank account back and at least get this debt back to the $50 a month I was paying. At this time, I'm looking into the solutions that one divorced man, who has no assests at this time due to frozen bank account (I have approx $1.25 in change to my name), can do.

Do not buy a car from these people, they want you to default, they actively repro your car to make money out of it by selling it three to four times after you've surrendered it.

And yes, to date using the CarFAX report the Jeep Cherokee that I brought has been through 3 different owners.

Do not buy a vehicle from Middle River Auto Sales.
