Continental Warranties Quotes Don't call for a Quote, the ruddest people on line are found there

I have a 2001 Windstar, and they can look me up too at the warranty company to see who is putting up this report. This came across my online quote search for home owners insurance, and as we all know everyone under the blue sky is after a sale and put up adds on line to make the client click, click and see. Most state "free online quote" or "online quote" and as we all know what the meaning of a quote is = (To state (a price) for securities, goods, or services). It does not mean you are obligated to purchase.

I never purchase anything on the first phone call, and ESPECIALLY from online companies who call with amazing deals or even if they call me after I've placed a request.'ts just not good sence, because if you didnt read the disclosure, terms and conditions, and other information about the company and did THUROUGH research on that company, your looking for trouble. Just like the ones who have paid this company then tried to get a refund, they should of looked the company up on the web to see if there are any consumer complaints.

A few tips to know your about to get RIPPED OFF:

FIRST: If the company want you to decide that instant then that is a sign.

SECOND: If the company tells you this is a "one time deal", you know then that if you decide to change your mind later you will not be able too or you can bet your twozzoms that you are going to have a headache to get that refund. I don't care what you are buying, the world revolves around consumers and if a company doesn't have a consumer it doesn't exist. So, if you call them back later within a resonable time they will give you the same deal even after all their threatening promises. It all comes down to the All Mighty $.

THIRD: We as consumers are TOTALLY FREE to choose who we want to spend our money on and if we do or not. Just like we are totally free to decide if we want a product NOW and take all the RISK to come or visa versa.

Now my deal with Continental Warranty, I was getting quotes, (a non-obligation service, as far as I know it is, unlessthe meaning changed in the past day) and after putting in requests for home-owners insurance, and auto-insurance, I thought, why not, look into Health, Life, Death and Warranty to see what it would cost if I wanted any of these. Life insurance, Health, Death, Accidental, Medical, all these insurance companies gave me quotes, a rep called me and explained the coverage, cost and time limits. Also told me the benefits of purchasing them the sooner the better.
No high pressure closing tactics - transfering from one person to another and pushing you to buy.

I get a call from Continantal Warranty and it's Mike *. He confirmes that I put in a QUOTE REQUEST for a 2001 Ford Windstar with 90,000 miles, online a few weeks ago and they are calling me back. Ok, I said I was interested in a quote only. Ok, fine he asked for some information, vin # and specs on van.
He used some of the Pre-Closing questions like; you can see...? Don't you agree...? You agree...? All these are closing type of questions to get you into saying YES, YES, and fall in without even a blink. I told him, I didn't want any pre-closing questions, I was just getting a quote and he said OK, I just need a couple of more seconds till it comes up on the system, while he tried asking some more closing/qualifying questions. They usually ask about your checking, savings, credit cards, are you the one who makes the decisions and so on. All I answer is, I am the decision maker and you don't need to know my financings till I decide to pay, If I couldn't pay for it or if I had to save up for it is not their business.

If they want a sale then the consumer has to ask, not them. After a short conversation he gave me the price of $2500.00 for a 3yr warranty on a 2001 van. After I said that it was way more than I thought, CLICK, the CLOSER came on line, manager, Mike must of been a new guy there or it's just their sales procedure.

He kept on asking lots of questions, comparing life insurance, medical insurance, auto insurace and things like that to try and get a yes from me. But as I told Mike, it was too much for me and I didn't think it was worth to spend on it. Especially if the van was running fine and I wanted to get a Quote, if it was cheap enough I would get it and if it wasn't then I wouldn't.
This CLOSER started to ask lots of questions and alternative closing techniques, none worked, I stuck to my guns... And I wasnt going to buy even if he had quoted me $10.00 for the coverage, since $10.00 doesn't fall from the sky anymore. And untill I checked them out on line, (if the price was resonable) I was not going to buy. Fortunately I found this site usacomplaints. Coms.com as one of the sites with prior consumer complaints. I feel sorry for those people who fell into this mess and happy for the ones who really got something out of it.

Why is the warranty to expensive. If the car would start to give any signs of problems, and since I have it checked out every year, which all of you should do. I would know when to get rid of it if it was going to have major problems.

They claim that the dealer sells the same $2500.00 warranty for $3500 or more, than I pitty the fool who bought it if the car cost less than $35000.00..
If you are going to pay a warranty for that amount, then its better to buy a new car, or even a used car which still has part of factory warranty on it, since most new cars now have good factory warranty and a big problem is less likely to happen than a major one. And with good maintenance you can see the problems. New cars have low interest rates, good financing, and lots more, but that is another chapter in my day to day life of saving and spending MY MONEY not anyone elses. These are my views and you are FREE to have yours, but heath the warnings you see out there.

They may save you lots of headaches and money in the long run.

After a short conversation, and trying to explain to him that I wanted a quote only, and getting insulted by him I had to basically HANG UP IN HIS FACE, which is something I don't generally do, but sometimes you just have to do it if they don't listen and keep on going on and on and on...

Heck, I told Mike "I want a Quote" and I didn't tell him I wanted to buy now, if he continued of if he would of said we don't give quotes, then I would of understood.

This company is a RipOff and out for a fast buch from unsuspecting consumers. I petty you out there that don't hold your guns and fight back these type of companies. This is what is causing our country to go spend crazy, impulsive buyers and not smart buyers.

Marc the ex-car salesman. If you have any more questions or remarks feel free to responde and I would be glad to give my Dollar's advice and no I won't charge you a dollar for it. It's free as long as I have the minute to responde to you.
