AAA Oklahoma
AAA (Triple A), American Auto Assoc ripoff

I became an AAA member in last November.in September, I went to their office at 2121 E. 15th office to get some maps for

Oklahoma City/Tulsa (1999 Edition) ISBN -?
San Francisco (November 1997) ISBN - 1578350654
Downtown Los Angeles (1999 Edition) ISBN - 1564134768
Orange County (10-01) (January) ISBN - 1564135497
Explore Orange County (January 1997) ISBN - 1564133974
Northern Orange County (January 1996) ISBN - 1564133427

I notice all maps were not current editions but I left quietly.

On October 24, I went back there again to get newer maps. And I could get maps for followings.

Oklahoma City/Tulsa (1999 Edition) ISBN -?
San Francisco (April) ISBN - 1578350654
Los Angeles & Orange Counties & Vicinity (July) ISBN - 1564134563

They didn't have any other Orange County maps that I needed.
I also noticed they still haven't got newer map for Oklahoma City/Tulsa and other places. The Oklahoma City/Tulsa map, they gave me this time (and also the time before in Sept.), is more than 3 years old and it isn't even showing a highway newly opened (even not showing as an under construction) any many other changes.

I need to get a better one that I can use and rely on. So, I complained and requested for a newer one. They told me I needed to come back in January more than 2 months later (or more than 3 months later from September). Hello?! We still haven't got through this year's Thanksgiving and Christmas when many people travels.

They told me they only print maps every 6 months and next one will not be available until next Jan. The Tulsa office print Oklahoma area maps in Oklahoma and distribute to other offices (in OK and other states). No other offices will have the Oklahoma City/Tulsa map newer than the one they gave me. They also told me I was lucky because I could at least get something. They told me it was only two more months until new one come out.

Oklahoma City/Tulsa is the major cities in OK and it should be one of the most popular maps. They were not just out of print for current edition. They were already out when I went there in Sept. So they consumed their expected 6 months period supply within less than 3 months and they have no intension to print more until next Jan. It would be ok, if they gave me the map less than 12 months old when they run out their current print but 1999/00 is more than 3 years old and unacceptable.

Providing reliable travel information is their primary business, and giving maps are their one of major services they provide. If they are out for their current maps, they should at least provide last edition. They should not provide any maps more than 12 months old especially for those fundamental cities and locations (OKC, Tulsa, SF, LA, Orange County, etc). I wonder if they are still providing the maps showing World Trade Center on it.

Am I supposed to delay my travel plan for 3 months? They said I needed to wait for ONLY Two More Months. So, I requested them to extend my membership for ONLY two more months because my membership would expire on Dec. 1 and they said they couldn't do that.

When we go to grocery store, do they sell out dated milk? Even they sold out, they will provide with in next few days. Also other stores give us rain checks.

AAA should have better business practice with this map service.
