I recently purchased a new car. I brought it into your business for an early oil and filter change at around 3,000 miles. Sometime after that, I noticed that the flashers that are supposed to signal when I lock and unlock the doors remotely were not working all the time. And the, the alarm started to sound a short time after I would arrive at home. I started wasting a lot of time, standing around, waiting to see if it would happen so I could shut the alarm off.

But, after a couple of weeks, I realized this effort was waste because the alarm would go off all day the car was parked at work, sometimes in the middle of the night at home, and where ever I happened to park the car. This was very annoying to me and may neighbors and I am sure other people subjected to this.in addition, I think this also meant my car was not in fact protected b the alarm system.

I tried for weeks to figure this out, to try to determine what conditions were met to produce this alarm. I did not want to take the car to the dealer, be without it for a day or more, as this is very inconvenient to me, so I tried to help speed up the process by diagnosing this myself.

I finally took it to the dealer and they found that the sensor for the hood switch on the alarm had been pushed down. The total circumstances - the timing of this malfunction (the fact that it is now apparent to me that this only started to occur after I brought the car into your business and the alarm worked perfectly before that), the position of the switch (where your guys lay the rubber mat down and lean over the engine compartment)- make it apparent to me that one or more of your people caused this.

Previously to this, on my other car that I have brought to your business many, many times, your guys hit the hot motor and alternator with high pressure water and, I believe, caused $90 in damage to my car (a fact that I have brought to your attention before). I really do not think it is a good idea to hit a hot block with colder water and/or aim it into other accessory parts.

When I brought this new car in, I reiterated that I did not want this to happen top the new car, either - NO WASH. One guy argued with me. Then, luckily for me, I overheard that the guy under the car was in the process of removing the skid plate from my NEW CAR so he could wipe it clean. I loudly told him and the other guy that I did not want them removing any parts from my car. This produced more conversation about the possibility of oil spots on my driveway. I assured them that I was prepared for this.

But, I wish you could talk to your people about these issues. They just have to be more careful. These things have caused me a lot of concern, inconvenience, anxiety, and time wasted.
