Complaint / Review
United Auto Credit Corporation (UACC)
They didn't recieve my money order that I sent and still expect me to pay immediately

My due date is on the 6th of every month. I sent my money order in the middle of last month (I believe on the 20th) and they never received it. I put a trace on it and it hasn't been cashed but I cannot receive a refund on it for 30 days.

Well UACC called me last week. I wasn't able to return their phone calls until today because I work almost constantly and I am 3 hours behind time because I live in Washington State so by the time I get off work it is too late to call them.

I finally got a day off and was able to call them today, and, let me tell you, they were rude. Not to mention, my payments have been consistently on time for almost a year now (except for last month when I didn't take into account my payment would take a couple of extra days to get there since I live so far away now) and then it was only 3 days late. This month, it was 8 days late, not my fault because I sent the money order with ample time to get there. And, this is the latest its ever been.

EIGHT DAYS and they told me they were already putting my account into collections and making plans to come reposess my car. Eight days. Isn't that illegal? I understand there's no grace period (which is ridiculous too), but come on. I thought it had to be at least 30 days late in order to take action. And, like I said, I told them I sent the money order and it hasn't been cashed but I can't get a refund yet and they told me that "wasn't their problem".

So I had to pay $25 to change my due date, plus some $15 fee for doing it over the phone. Not to mention, I had to borrow that money because I don't even get paid until 3 days from now.

These people have no compassion. I understand they are a business that probably deals with people not wanting to pay their bills all the time. But, the eight day thing is totally ridiculous. Like I said, I don't even think that's legal.

They are bullies... They are rude... Do not use them.
