I have financed 6 cars inthe past and this is the worst finance company I have ever used. I finaced my vehicle through uacc 3 years ago and it has been nothign but a nightmare. I have a friend that has a car loan with them also and he is constanly stressed out by this company every month.
They have no grace period first of all, so if your payment is due on 10th of each month, then it needs to be in their office before 2Pm or you will get at least 3-5 harrassing phone calls per day until the payment arrives. If a payment doesn't clear once; you can no longer write a check. Once the payment clears; I sometimes still get harrassing phone calls by several agents on that day or even a day or 2 after because the agents don't check their records before calling. They have even contacted my relatives when the payment was only 1 day late, which is embarrassing!
I just had a run in with and agent regarding my payment. My payment was due and I told them specifically that I would send it via quick collect within 4 days from the due date. The guy told me that it wasn't acceptable and I must pay it on that day, so I need to borrow the money or something and I better call him back that afternoon and tell him that I had the money. That really made me angry because he used the word "better" and his tone was rally nasty and raising his voice! I tried to be nice and tell him that if I had the money today that I would have sent it today.
He went on to ask me what my problem was b/c I always pay it a few days late. I told him that first of all the truck they sold me was a piece of junk and it already had an oil sludge problem when I purchased it. Second the extended warranty that I purchased through them was worthless and the warranty company refused to pay for an engine for my truck, so I got stuck paying thousands of dollars for a new engine in my truck.
So they are the rason I can't pay my freakign note on time; becuase I had to shelll out all this money to get it fixed! I then told him that I called to get the payoff information a week ago b/c I plan on gettig it refinanced or do a trade, so I would not have to deal with their ridiculous rules, harrassment and poor customer service ever again.
He got angry and told me that the payment needs to be there today and he will be waiting for my call. I told him that I would pay my car note in a few days as promised and if that wasn't good enough then he could come and pick of the vehicle because I have a brand new truck that I purchased a year ago, so the vehicle that they financed is just sitting in the driveway collecting dust! I then hung up on him and I have gotten a few more harrassing phone calls, but I have just ignored them.
This company causes major stress each month and it concerns me that a finance company can't offer a grace period nor wait 3-4 days to receive a payment; which raises a red flag that they may be in some kind of financial bind or or not really onthe "straight and narrow".
On a positive note there are a few nice people that work for them, but for the most part I deal with people that are abnoxious and rude and they really should not be in collections. I can't wait to get rid of them!
Never use this company! I have dealt with Finance companies that were really strict and they even offered at least a 7-14 day grace period... Or they just required that you pay your note withing the month that it was due or there would be other penalties assessed.
