I bought a car form Lewis Motors in Charles City Iowa on Monday November 4th and on Friday November 8th my transmission went out. I called them at 9:30 am on Saturday and they said i should have called them to tell them something was wrong and that is what i was doing.
They said my boyfriend should have had more sense about cars, but he doesn't know that much about cars. He told me i dodn't know anything about cars and i should have parked it and had somebody come and pick me up.
I think this is so low, i payed $3,995 for the car and now he wants me to put in a new transmission. He said since he was a "nice guy" he would try to help me find a used transmission and cut the costs of labor in half. I can't afford that. I asked him if he could put the transmission in if i payed for the labor, but he said no.
I need a car to get arounf i live eight miles out into the country and i am still in school, i can't rely on other people to give me a ride. I think they should have to pay for this.
When i test drove the car before i bought it it was jumpng when it switched gears and i told that to the guy that sold the car to me, but they said it was normal. I think they should have taken full responsibility for this and pay for everything but i am willing to pay for the labor if i have to.
