My daughter was just 18 and had a very nice used 1999 Mits Eclipse in perfect shape, leather seats, cd player, air, everything power and the nicest tires you've ever seen. She got a loan through me and Bank Of America and went to Progressive for insurance. They gave her insurance that cost her about $100.00 a month for the basic and Uninsured Motorist, but failed to let her know that she needed bodily and property uninsured.
She got the car in June of and in August of a man hit her turning left, he had ran the red and was drunk and didn't have a license or insurance. My daughter thank God was not physically hurt but now she was out of a vehicle, we were certain that Progressive would take care of this since she had Uninsured Motorist that she had been paying on, but they did nothing and I called and talked with anyone I could and their supervisor, and they said nope, there was nothing they would do and that it isn't their responsibility to let their clients know that they are not covered for what they need to be to prevent this.
Well now she is still paying on the loan and will be for the next, a little over four years for a car that is totaled that she was paying insurance for. What is that, it used to be your agent would let you know what you needed to cover your butt. Now they just take your money and look right at you and say to bad for you!
