Well, my husband and I found PepBoys Auto Service store last Friday Mar. 7th.
It was real black Friday. Our Garmin GPS c330 left in the car was stolen by Pep Boys.
We used our GPS to find the store where is totally new for us with attempt to change four tires of the car. My husband took our bags and jackets out of car before giving key to the employee, the guy we believe must be the thief. We forgot to take the GPS out as well becuase it was placed in the box of car in front of seat. We did not expect the theft would happen then.
The bad guy drove our car from parking lot outside of the store to their garage. We just waited there for at least two hours but not 1 hour as they promised. After finishing work, hey parked our car to parking lot again. Everything seemed to go well when we paid 447 dollars and got our key back. When we were happy with four new tires and about to go home, I opened the box and suddenly found it was empty!!! 1 GPS and its 2 cradles disppeared.
We rushed back to the store and the manager looked very angry when hearing of what we said. He called the guy back to store right away and repeated very loudly " back! Back!". He even comforted us that if our GPS could not be found in the garage of the store, the store will pay for one.
Then he started to make different calls. Finanlly the bad guy went back to the store. The manager and he made a private converstaion that we did not know what secrets they had shared. We looked pretty silly, I guess, as we were either native speaker nor have white or black look.
To our surprise, when they finished conversation, the manager let the bad guy go home and paid him compensation for transport. What he said was... I do not how to describe then. He told me that because his employee moved our car from parking lot to garage, so nobody knew what he did to the car on the way since there was no surveilliance anywhere outside the garage.
We were absolutely shocked. We were to stupid to give our key to a thief???
Well, probably because our spoken language is poor, we got nothing back to the store!!! They cost us 40 dollars labor cost plus the value of our GPS, so high profit!!!
