I purchased a 1991 GMC Sierra truck (diesel) directly after viewing the listing on ebay. The listing said beautiful truck. Rebuilt engine, 0 miles, runs strong as a locomotive. I sent a check for $4,500.00 to Neil's partner Gordon Cochrane. The truck was shipped via a company called Phoenix Exotic Transport, which does alot of shipping for Neil but claims they've never heard a complaint.
When I recieved the truck at my residence it would not start (made an awful noise) and most things in the truck did not work. I contacted Neil and he suggested I take it somewhere to have it looked at. I had the truck moved to a local Chevy the dealer who does a lot of service work on diesel engines. They discovered that a large chunk was missing out of the portion of the engine block which holds the starter. To compensate, someone drilled a deep hole in the engine block and inserted 1 long soft bolt to hold the starter in place. The starter just shakes around and chewes up the flywheel. Their evaluation was that the truck needs a new motor.
I offered them 48 hours to make restitution, which they declined. They stated that the truck ran beautifully when they had it. Yet the trucking company has given me a document stating that the truck ran very rough when they picked it up in Florida and would not start again after that point.
