My car overheated and I took it to JB Tire who assured me they had the best mechanic in town. They charged me over 1000.00 and 9 days later my car broke down again. I paid another 200.00 to get it fixed - they now told me it was something new that needed to get done that was impossible to correct until it broke.
A week later on a trip to CT from NJ my car broke down. I called the mechanic in NJ and was basically told that they had no idea what was wrong - that they had done everything they could and if I wanted every hose in the car changed it would cost me thousands.
I met a great mechanic who diagnosed my problem in minutes - a slow leak from a busted tank. He filled it with coolant and told me that I would probably be able to make the 4 hour ride home before it completed leaked all the coolant out. He was right. I got home and took it to the VW dealership who confirmed exactly what the CT mechanic had told me. They fixed it for 350.00.
I disputed the charge with American express who of course sided with the Merchant. JB Tire totally ripped me off. I am so frustrated that they are able to get away with this type of behavior.
