Do not patronize Mr. Tire,
On 2/22/08, I stopped at Mr. Tire store 678 in Woodbury Heights, NJ for an oil change. The sign outside said "Ask us about our oil change specials".
Since I have been using synthetic oil in my car, the sales person suggested I stay with synthetic. He referred me to a counter pad with oil specials listed. The pad advertised a special that included a tire rotation and either an air filter or wiper blades for $49, $13 more ($62) for regular synthetic oil and $20 more for extended synthetic.
I opted for extended synthetic and was charged $71.33 (including $5.42 shop supply fee?), but they didn't rotate the tires, didn't provide air filter or wiper blades. When I questioned why, the sales person who referred me to the pad to begin with said the special "did not apply to synthetic oil".
I contacted Mr. Tire customer service on the phone (Jessica) the same day and was told that someone would call me back. They never did, so I left a complaint on their web site, customer service. No response.
$71.33 for an oil change??? Mr. Tire = Mr. Rip Off
