Beware of driving for or doing business with Zummanity! I started driving a flatbed semi over the road for Vytaulus Zummanity in November 07. From the start of my first day I had nothing but trouble. For my first task I had to return currently loaded freight to the shipper because the previous driver walked off the job suddenly, leaving the loaded truck at a gas station. Zummanity therefore couldn't get the shipment where it needed to be on time so it had to be returned. With the previous driver just walking off the job and leaving a loaded truck stranded, I should've known right then.
I have a CDL license and have driven for other companies so I am familiar with driving a truck and its procedures. While driving for Zummanity out on the road, I was constantly struggling to be able to fuel the truck. The fuel card that Zummanity gave me was no good and I would be stuck in truck stops for days. With a fuel card that didn't work I would have to sleep through the night with no heat in the truck because I had no fuel to turn it on, and Zummanity would not answer his phone to fix the situation. He even wanted me to pay for the gas with my own credit card. These practices are not common in the trucking industry
I made two trips driving for Zummanity. My first trip, I was only paid half of what we agreed on. My second trip was a lot longer. I drove over 5200 miles on this trip. During the second trip I blew a trailer tire in Florida and Zummanity told me not to worry and he would take care of it. The truck stop replaced the tire as well as the one right next to it because it was a bad tire and going to blow soon. Zummanity told me to have the tire fixed, and then would not answer his phone so I ended up having to pay for the tires with my own credit card.in total, the trip cost me $570.00 in tires, tolls, and a tarp I needed for the load.
I paid for all this on my own because of Zummanity's refusal to answer his phone or to provide me with a fuel card or credit card that worked. You might be asking yourself why I chose to drive for this person, but at the time I needed the money and was told I would be reimbursed.
When I returned home I gave Zummanity my log sheets, the Bills of Lading, the toll receits, plus the credit charges for the tires etc. And he gave me two checks. The first was for $570.00 as reimbursement for credit card charges for tolls and tires etc. And the other for $2300.00 for driving. I put the checks into my checking account right away and wrote checks for the bills that needed to be paid. Three days later my bank tells me a stop payment was issued on the $570.00 and there was insufficient funds for the $2300.
As a result, I am in default on my bills, my credit rating has gone down, and I have to pay penalties for late payment.in total, I gave up weeks of my time driving for Zummanity, was not paid the money that was owed to me for driving, and even cost me $570 of my own money.
Zummanity won't answer his phone, answer his door (he works out of his house), and won't return any of my messages. Zummanity has no ethics and will steal from anyone. Zummanity is a real low life crook and should not be allowed to run a business. If he has done this to me, I am sure he has done it to others. Beware of working for or doing business with Zummanity because he will do the same to you.
