I am appauled at how many negative reports this company has and nothing has been done. I would like to say that not all customers who have them had bad credit when they purchased their cars. Myself and a dear friend both went with them because at the time they offered a good rate.
However, Like the lady before me they also handed over my personal info.
It turned out an employee I was working with was in fact working under an alias. She was wanted for all sorts of felons. We have since discovered, by police questioning then trial, that she contacted and obtained all info she needed about me from Americredit. She called them and told them my car had been totalled. After of which she proceeded to try and purchase another car under my name. One problem, my insurance company did not recieve a accident report and americredit was calling them non stop. The other problem, all my info had been changed. (address, phone # etc) Finally Geico, thank god for Geico, got suspicious and went back pulled my old info and sent me an email. Thus starting the ID Theft investigation and the road to taking down several people.
With the assistance of my lawyers office, sheriff's dept and other law enforcement, and several wonderful companies, she was arrested.
The best part is Americredit had been notified and informed of the events. They were instructed to add 2 passwords and other safety measures. However, they were still dwelling on my car, which was fine, and fact that geico wouldn't pay them. Even after the were contacted by all the people listed above. Then one happy day the sheriff's dept was dropping my stuff off and americredit called, I missed the call. I called back as the they were leaving and to my surprise americredit did not request any... I repeat... Any verifying info. I motioned the officers to come back put my phone on speaker. When I addressed this, the guy responded "OH S#&*" and hung up. At this time the one officer pulled out a pen and paper and wrote the whole thing up for me to add to the other police reports.
Oh almost forgot. They were also questioned as to why they were not cashing my checks in a timely manner. They said they didn't get them. Sound familiar? Well my lawyer is smart and was sending them via fed ex, which required a signature. I quess we will never know why it takes them 21 days to deposit a check... Sound familiar? My bank, free of charge, pulled all withdrawls, online and checks. As per my lawyers and my requests my account has not been fixed.
I still pay my car payment and they still harass me, my insurance and anyone else that will answer. LOL Just for some odd reason they won't talk to my lawyer. HHMM!
If you have had problems know this. To sue would cost around 50K, to get a book deal and a tell all which would implicate them on all kinds of levels as well as in a huge ID theft ring, PRICELESS. All money made will be used to shut these loosers down. After all their ignorance almost cost me my life. The credit is being restored.
