Complaint / Review
Waldorf Ford & Dodge
I was unethically treated, and disenfranchised by employees of Waldorf Ford

My name is Renee, and this letter is to explain my frustration and discontent in the way that I was unethically treated, and disenfranchised by the employees of Waldorf Ford. My intent is to call an investigation to any an every government body, regulatory agency, and media outlet that will listen, and reprimand any parties involved.

On November 6th at or around 8:02 pm, I began a series of communication with a salesman with Waldorf Ford. I expressed to him an interest in looking at purchasing one of their vehicles. We did the preliminary work over the Internet, and after the review I was told that we was approved.

On November 24th at or around 6:15 pmI went to Waldorf Ford and met with my internet sales person and we began to look for a vehicle. I was instructed that I was approved for a specific dollar amount and to stay within a budget. After looking at around four different vehicles, I decided on a 2005 Ford Taurus. I was told that they would give me a $3000.00 dollar discount off the price tag.

After choosing a vehicle we then were directed to meet the finance manger for Waldorf Ford. When I met with the finance manager I made my down payment and I went through the whole process of filling out all the necessary documentation for the purchase of this vehicle. I filled out an application, I thought I was approved, we met with the finance manager, singed a contract of sale and secured insurance through Geico. The finance manger signed off on all the paperwork on behalf of Waldorf Ford, and at or around 9:00pm I concluded, and I drove off with what I believe to be my new car.

On December 11th I received a letter stating that the finance company did not approve.

On December 12 at or around 9: pm someone from waldorf ford called my cell and asked me to come out and sign some paperwork. I was completely taken back by this request, as I was under the complete understanding that everything had been processed.

I went back out to the dealership to meet with this rep that night at about 9:15pm, in which he told me that the finance company did not approve my application for the amount of the vehicle that I purchased. He told me that they could only finance a vehicle not to exceed a certain dollar amount, and that what kind of vehicle did I want to purchase.

I have never felt so disrespected as a consumer, and felt so humiliated as an individual. I was asked what I was looking for in a car, and to return on the following day, December 13th to look for another car. The problem is that, I had already purchased one, and in my possession is all the supporting documentation to support this transaction. On December 13, I called this person before going out to the Dealership and was told that he has been in meetings all day and for me to give him one more day.

In light of the fact that I have been inconvenienced, I was placed on a low priority list on what was to me a serious situation. I saved every dollar that I could to purchase this vehicle and get the insurance. I work a very tight schedule, and this now began to affect me personally, in addition to missing time for work because On Wednesday December 19th I woke up to go to work at 5:00 am, and the car was not outside. I had to call in to work and was reprimanded in the process.

When I finally spoke to the rep I was dealing with at 9:00am that morning, he informed me that I had made no efforts to contact them, and that they had to repossess the vehicle. All the money that I had saved to provide for my family on Christmas was subsequently used to rent a car, and take a cab back and forth to work. It has caused me severe financial hardship, and I feel like my car was stolen from me. Til dis day no one from waldorf ford contacted me about this issue. Something has to be done because it seems waldorf ford does this all the time to their consumer, this is a dirty dealership.
