In November, my family and I went to Dodge at Iron Mountain Autoplex. We had been researching for a minivan as we are planning to add to our family. Not really knowing where our credit was at, knew it wasnt pretty, we decided to do the over the phone pre-approval for credit. We then got the go ahead and found a few vans we were interested in and went down to test drive them. After finding the one we wanted, we then began the long financing process. The salesman we worked with came to us with an ungoddly amount for a monthly payment, but said they had a "deal" of no payments for first 2 months. So we then decided that with our financial situation and winter around the corner we would sit down with the finacing and see if we could wheel n deal with them. We were trading in a Tahoe because of the gas prices and it was older and we were wanting to make sure we had a good vehicle under us for the winter with have young kids. We asked the salesman repeatedly if we were having to carry our tahoe loan in with the new vehicle. He assured us that they cold probably get the whole thing covered. As we only owed about 7400 on the Tahoe. After sitting down with the finacial person, we then saw that the amount on the paperwork was almost $8000 over the asking price on the website. He then began to do a chicken sketch on some paper to try to make us understand why there was all this extra amount added on. Needless to say a supposed manager came over and offered to lower the price and get our payment closer to the amount we were wanting it at. While doing the paperwork I noticed the 1st payment due date of December and told him that was wrong because of the first 2 months being free. He told me that Dodge would send us a check in the amount of 2 payments and that it was up to us to make the payments with this amount. Once again my husband and I saw an opportunity of using 1 month for our christmas and the other to make our first payment due on christmas day. A few weeks went by and still no check, so I then called to find out when I would be receiving this check. I talked to 3 different people and all of them said that they had never heard of such a promotion, and there was nothing in the paperwork saying to send us any money. I have left several messages and now I get no returned calls, my tahoe is gone now, and I have a payment due on Christmas Day. I have spoke to 2 other couples who had the same thing happen to them. My 30 days is not up in returning the vehicle but I do not know what options I have with returning and then not having a vehicle at all. DO NOT BELIEVE THE 2 MONTHS FREE!!! Or getting it in writing!!! This has ruined our christmas and also ruined the joy of getting a new car. I know that salesman are crooks and I have been burned by other dealerships in the past, but nothing that has taken a bad situation for my family and I and given the opportunity to make it a good one in the end and then be told that I made the whole thing up. I know what I heard and it was 3 different people who tried to jazz the deal up by offer this 2 months free promo... It just goes to show that good salesman are hard to find when surrounded by so many bad ones!!!
