For 6 years I was a loyal customer of Offshore Getty. During most of this time period, this repair station employed a wonderful mechanic who knew his stuff and always fixed the problem. However, this mechanic left and his replacement (s) can not possibly be mechanics!
At the beginning of this year I took my car in to have the brakes looked at. They said there was no problem. I knew there was, but I don't know enough about cars to argue my point well enough, so I let it go. A few months into the year I had to take the car back for an oil change and again I asked them to look at the brakes. Again, they claimed the brakes were fine.
In July I took the car back to Offshore Getty because it was over-heating. And for the third time I asked them to please check the brakes. They charged me $352 for a pipe assembly a new gasket and labor but according to them my brakes were fine.
In August I could no longer stand the fact that my car was tough to brake so I took the car to another mechanic. $667 dollars later... I have a mostly new braking system on my car. The new facility's mechanic showed me some of the parts he replaced and even I could see how badly worn they were. He told me that if the problem had been corrected months ago, the solution would not have been so expensive.
Now just yesterday my car began over-heating again and I have had to drop it off this morning at my new repair station. I have no doubts that whatever Offshore Getty suppossedly fixed the first time for $352 was either wrong or not truly fixed. I am so mad I could scream. I do not have the money for these people's incompitence! Please... Never ever ever use this facility.
