Produces low quality product Toyota City Aichi Prefecture, Japan

First let me say that I have been a steady buyer of Toyota Camry for the past twenty years.

However, my most recent purchase turned out to be a lemon for me. My 2002 Camry started to consume oil at the rate of approximately one quart per 1000 miles. The car has been mostly serviced by the Toyota dealership and I took it in for an oil consumption test and it was verified (that means there is no external leakage). I was futher informed that this rate of oil consumption is "normal" and is within Toyota engine specification.

Now I never had to frequently add oil (one quart every one thousand miles) with all my previous Camrys, including those with extremely high mileage. Further more, a slightly older Camry that I owned (older model) emitted blue smoke. My recent expericence tells me that that the Toyota Camry may have gone down hill in quality big time and currently living off its past fine reputation. Further more, it appears that this experience of mine makes a mockery of the public web statement by the Mr. Fujio Cho, Chairman of Toyoto Corporation, on using advanced enviromental technologies in their cars... Yes technologies that burn oil at the rate of one quart per thousand miles and pump the pollution into the air we breathe. Thank you very much, Mr. Cho.

Based on my most recent experience, I will never buy a Toyota Camry again and I want to share my experience with folks that are contemplating buying a Toyota. There are many other fine cars on the market and no one should be subjected to this kind of inferior product experience.
