I purchased an bumper-to-bumper extended warranty for my car in 2004. A claim was recently filed against the contract to repair a sunroof on my car and was denied. The policy exludes tracks and trim on the car, which was the justification for denying the claim. The part in question was not inclusive of just the tracks. The assembly only comes from the manufacturer as a whole unit and the warranty company will only cover component parts. For this car you cannot order component parts, as explained to the Warranty Claims Department. I was basically told it was my problem and there was nothing to be done about this. When I asked about obtaining a refund I was referred to another company that does administrative processing only for the Warranty Division and was told to request a letter of explanation and hope for the best. My next step is to file a claim with the Better Business Bureau.
