In Nov I contacted CnV Corvettes in Tempe, AZ. To purchase a 74 Corvette. I spoke with a JT. Salesman and was told that the car was in great shape. Cost around 23k. Matching numbers. But had a few minor interior problems that needed to be fixed. First it took over two weeks to deliver the car and later on (this is not my first rodeo) I notied that not only did the car slide in the rear, but there was a thud sound in the crank case. I requested the paperwork/history on the car and finally received in late July. Was informed that the History had been mis-filed? By that time I found that the left strut was bent as was the left trailing arm. I replaced both arms. As to the thud in the crank it was discovered that the 350cid had been exchanged with a 2-Bolt main, that had so much end play and Fly wheel scoring that I determend that the motor came out of a clutch car. At this time approx mileage on the car was lest than 500 miles. I also discovered that the bore had been changed. After overhauling the engine and the suspension replacements I have spent as much fixing the car as I originally paid for it. Now closed to 40k. I have all pictures that CnV sent, plus reciepts and Photos of work done to the car.
Now i am looking for a C5 but will not do business with them again.
