Rip off, deceptive finance practices, dishonest company

Route 112 mazda and hyundai delership changed the pricing completely. I was told i was purchasing first a 2006 hyundai sonata, then Glenn in financing said its a 2007. Thats better right? He also told me it was a demo car with almost 8,000 miles.

I was not given the opportunity to even test drive it. I was driven to the car, opened the door, sat in it for 30 seconds, and the sales person "Pete" talked it up, fully loaded, but because its a demo car, its a "great deal".

I was never given any financial information untill I was walking actually running out the door after they kept me there for hours. My debit card was debited for the deposit before I even was approved for financing.

When I asked Pete the price and mileage, and such. He scuffed me off with " oh Glenn will go over everything with you. I don't have the info." I'm a mom, working full time, and just wanted to get a decent smaller car to save on gas. They said they could not trade in my 2001 Windstar and assume the loan into the new loan, "because it can't be done". I was told the car was being "given" to me for around like $12K". My credit has some issues, so he tells me he got me a great rate of 12.93%.

I never should have done this alone, because stupidly and trustingly, when Glenn said sign the black box (like at the grocery store), its all the stuff we talked about and then you'll have your new car.

I had tried to leave and said I would return next week and they were adimate that i stay and take the car home that night. I did not look at the papers until Monday because they drove the car to my house. I had to drive my car.

On Monday I reviewed everything, come to realize the price financed was $28,033.75 and with interest for 6years came to $41,943.12 for a HYUNDAI. Talk about bait and switch. I took the car back last night, Pete and Glenn were not available, the guy who sits in the middle sales booth told me I was full of it and its my problem. He said I can default on the loan and the bank will reposess it, but its mine now. I left the keys on his desk, removed the registration and plates.

One other thing they did, because my insurance carrier could not be reached on Friday night when I had to take the car. They placed me with their broker of choice (Spirit) in East Meadow, which wanted a $500 deposit, which I refused, so the dealership paid a $300 deposit because the "owner" owns the brokerage as well.

I have contacted an attorney to represent me in this matter.
