Dulles Motorcars
Dishonest Sales, Leesburg, Virginia Finance director reneged on verbal finance agreement and charged me an extra $9,000.00 for my vehicle Ripoff

Jeep was purchased on 3/26/07. I put $1,000.00 down and traded in a 2005 Mercedes Benz C-Class which was paid off (had the title) which they gave me $19,000.00 for

The verbal discussion to finance the remaining amount went over 2 hours and resulted in a "verbal" agreement to 7.5% finance for $21,000.00 after the dealer agreed to take $4,000.00 plus additional dealer incentives off the sticker. The dealer also agreed to a 3 month no payment set up.

I drove the vehicle for about 2 weeks when severe transmission and brake issues began to occur which kept it in the service department on and off for the next 2 months. Once the issue was finally resolved, it just so happened the same week my first payment came due for the vehicle.

It was then I discovered that the dealer (Dulles Motorcars) had reneged on our verbal agreement, charging me 8.5% interest and taking nothing off the sticker price, so my obligation was to pay off $29,000.00 as opposed to $21,000.00.

I found that they just told me what I wanted to here to make a sale over the course of the 2 hour contract negations, and then did the opposite on the paperwork which I neglected to review effectively before signing. A tactic they have obviously used before.

I was so upset; I took the vehicle to CarMax and had them buy the vehicle from me to try to keep my head above water. CarMax opted to purchase the vehicle from me for a price of $36,500.00. The lean was paid off and I received a $7,000.00 check from CarMax

Seeing as how the dealership will hide under the "should have read the contract before signing" argument, I knew I legally had no leg to stand on, which is why I sold the vehicle.

I estimate I lost $10,000.00 on the selling of this vehicle to CarMax with the Mercedes I traded in and $1,000 down payment

This the worst vehicle ownership and finance experience I have ever been through. It is my opinion that any consumer should avoid Dulles Motorcars at all costs, they are dishonest businessmen
putting business ethics on the back burner in order to make a sale and I am doing everything in my power to recoup my losses and prevent this from happing to someone else
