I had been an employee of Honda for twenty years having four carpal tunnel surgeries, the last being reconstructive. I was on the MIT program, scheduled to be "separated" from the company for lack of placement when God spoke stating that after two and a half years they have a "wonderful opportunity" for me. I re-entered the madness again.
I thought, "I can do this, I just won't give so much this time and risk being hurt, " yeah... Right. I ran my a* while uninjured and injured people were taking pottie breaks. Then, the Honda demon re-appeared saying that they were re-evaluating my restrictions and I had to begin performing acts my restrictions prohibited.
ELP Medical backed my coordinators' request about my restrictions and my Health Partners doctor backed the medical staff. So basically, they could just eliminate the chain of command and just give my pot-head coordinator a PhD. If my last surgeon have known I even went back to work he'd crap!
No other restricted people in my department were being re-evaluated, harassed and threatened... Why? They were probably in the pottie. Management wanted someone to bust butt on the other jobs dispite the injuries and the possiblity of needing a surgerie I was not allowed to have (surgeons orders).
I had a Jerry McQuire moment. I quit... Picked up the phone and cried through the whole exit interview. Half my life dedicated to a comany that probably gave a bonus to whomever caused me to resign because of my years of service and tenacity to work there.
Like others, I have seen more corruption and dishonesty than the imagination will permit. Ohio supports and defends the large corporation that provides much needed manufacturing jobs, financial backings and kickbacks. It will only be when Honda pulls out of Ohio (and yes I'll put my life on it that it's coming) that officials will scream foul on it's hard working, dedicated citizens of the state of Ohio.
