Dealing with Drive Financial Services has been extremely challenging. After Hurricane Katrina, I continued to pay Drive for my truck. I didn't know that Drive had written the truck off as a loss and already collected money from the insurance company and they were still collecting money from me.
The first time I was late, they sent me a letter and left notes at my home for me to turn in the vehicle. I had the money to pay up to date and for the next month, they refused my money. They continued to call and show up at my home and work, harrassing me about the truck. It got so bad, I lost my job and couldn't pay at all.
After losing my job, I contacted Drive and they said "who cares, you need to send in a payment." I thought it was a law that companies such as Drive couldn't take your vehicle if you were unemployed.
If there is anyone out there with a similar story or if anyone knows of a lawyer that can help, please let me know. I would also like to join any class action lawsuit that's out there. Thanks.
