I took my car to the Rockwall Ford body shop for repair to a dented passenger door. The "Collision expert" told me they would be glad to also touch up a scratch on the rear bumper and I would have my car back by the end of the week. Nine days later when I finally got to get my car back, the right front bumper had been scraped (paint and plastic were hanging from the bumper so it was obvious it had just been damaged) Also, they did not touch up the paint on the rear bumber as I was promised. I pointed both incidents out to Jimmy Cope, manager of the body shop. He had an attitude and said that they were under no obligation to touch up the rear bumper even though the "collision expert" had told me they would. He did agree to pay for a rental car while the bumper that they damaged was being repaired. I talked to the GM, Charlie Gray, to see if I could use a car on the lot instead of going through the hassle of renting again. He said no. I called and told Jimmy Cope that I would bring the car back in on Saturday because I could not take off work again. Jimmy called me back and told me they would not pay for the rental car over the weekend and also insinuated that the damage to the bumper was there when I dropped the car off. He also gave me a ridiculously high estimate ($375.00) to touch up the paint on the rear bumper, there are no dents, just the scratched paint. I called Charlie Gray back after Jimmy treated me like dirt and told him that I was extemely umpleased with the treatment I received. Charlie never called me back. I have looked these guys up on the BBB and they have an unsatisfactory status. I found out tonight that there is no individual owner, they are owned by Group One that is a large corporation based in Houston. So, basically, they don't have to answer to anybody because I'm sure Group One doesn't give a crap about what how I was treated, they're still going to be a Bn corporation. I'll now have to take my car to a locally owned reputable shop to get the repairs and I'll file a BBB report to try to get my insurance copay of $250 back. Probably won't do any good, because they don't answer to the BBB. I also has a friend that was purchasing a vehicle from them and they changed the terms last minute. She cancelled the purchase.
