On March 6th a 2007 Suzuki Reno was brought in for service at Pep Boys Hicksville. I had previously bought rims from this store & wanted my tires & pressure sensors mounted on the new rims. I had told the service manager that the car has tire pressure sensors and to be careful because it cost $150 to replace the tire pressure sensor & valve stem.
Apparently the service manger never told the auto mechanic that the car had tire pressure sensors, the mechanic had try to cut off valve stem with pliers
from the outside of rim to let air out of tire, instead of removing valve needle.
I guess he never looked at mileage since the car only had 600 miles. And valve stems are not required to be replaced.
If the auto mechanic was going to try to remove the valve stem and pressure sensor from my rims he would have removed the valve stem & sensor from the inside of rim. The valve stem proves my theory on where it was cut.
I am going to keep the valve stem & pressure sensor for my proof, and will be given back to pep boys upon payment if requested at store.
Pep boys will have until April 4th to pay for the Valve stem and pressure sensor. If Pep boys will not pay for the valve stem & pressure sensor with in this time frame matters will be settled in nassau county small claims court.
