W.A.H. - Warranty Activation Headquarters
Deceptive practices in solicitation letter Ripoff St. Louis

Received letter in mail, from WAH, 12244 Tesson Ferry Road, St Louis MO 63128, bearing "Notice Enclosed" on front.inside a letter with bold heading "Notification" and, after heading, in bold, "This is your notification that your vehicle may no longer be protected." Nowhere in the letter is the full name of the company, only W.A.H. Or WAH. I got the company name when I called the 800 number.

It goes on to solicit you to call them at 800-376-5553 to sign up for additional 100,000 miles or 5 year additional vehicle protection. It asks you to have your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and exact mileage ready for faster service when you call.

It seems a legitimate business, offering extended warranty, would already have the (VIN) of the vehicle they are offering the extended coverage on. I am a retired police offier and, having worked vehicle theft investigation for over 14 years, I know there are people out there who would use the VIN and mileage for illegal, unlawful purposes once they received it.

If this were truly a legitimate business, they would have the full company name somewhere on their correspondence and list their website as well.
