Warning to all Crown Victoria Owners!

On 6/25/02, it was known that Ford is in hot water again. Unfortunately, I am the owner of the 2001 Focus, that we all know is one of the biggest piece of crap cars that Ford has ever produced.

Well, after at least 10 police officers deaths, nationwide, there is now a Federal investigation in the Ford Crown Victorias. Apparently, several lawsuits have been filed against Ford because of the fuel tank design. If you recall back in '79, Ford had to recal their Pinto's because of their fuel tank design.

The Crown Victoria's are of the same fuel tank design. The tanks are positioned in a way to make them very vulnerable to rupture and explosions in a high speed rear-ending accicent. Mainly affecting police officers. Ford has already settled 3 lawsuits for undisclosed amounts with various police departments because of the death's accountable by this design.

The most recent mishap, accorded in Phoenix Arizona when a high speed police chase ended in a rear-end occurance, resulting in an explosion of the police cruiser and ending the lives of two officers. Ford denies any defects in their design, as expected.

On Tuesday, 6/25/02, Arizona's Attorney General, Janet Napolitano was to meet with the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI. She is pressing Ford for a safer design of the fuel tanks.

In the past few years, Ford has seemed to become very incompetent with their cars designs. The Crown Victoria and Focus are the newest cars to put them in hot water. With enough public awareness, Ford may eventually become wiser in their designs and stop taking people's lives for granted. Ford may still be dening flaws in these vehicles now, but I'd bet if one of their loved one's was driving these vehicles, they would sing a different tone.
