My complaint concerns the sales practices of B & M Auto Sales and to record that this event occurred for future buyers. I purchased a 2000 Ford Windstar on 11/08/06.
They misrepresented that the vehicle ran perfectly and had no issues. However, 30 minutes into the trip home (approx. 20 miles), the Check Transmission light came on and the 'O/D Off' light began to flash. Upon further inspection by 2 independent facilities, it was determined that the transmission would require replacement.
After completion of the sale, they stated that all the vehicle needed was the struts replaced and transmission flushed and it would be a good running car. This suggest that he had prior knowledge of this condition and failed to disclose it before sale completion.
When confronted, the dealer was dumbfounded that the problem existed and stated that he would contact the prior owner to determine if the condition existed and contact me that evening. Not to my surprise, he did not.
This facility claims that they only sell perfect vehicles and only the best of the best get listed on eBay (as this vehicle was). My objective through this letter is not to recover anything monetary, (as it is clear only a protracted legal process will accomplish that), but rather to ensure that the surrounding community is aware of the dishonesty of this dealer, so that others will not suffer this same fate.
