World Ford Pembroke Pines, Florida
Bait and Switch, False Advertising and more Ripoff

Buyer Beware!

Consumer were lured into World Ford in Pembroke Pines Florida showroom with advertisements that promoted extremely low price on a 2006 Ford Expedition. The dealership, however, failed to clearly disclose in its ads that its prices were subject to financing through the dealership at high interest rates. Car dealership detained customer by playing the I lost your keys game. Customer was detained 3 hours at dealership while the sales manager and sales person tried to locate customer keys.

World Ford Dealer ship failed to produce the car advertised in the news paper Saturday, August 26.

Is the way Ford Motor company treats their customers!

Broward County Sheriff Department Case# 06-4489.

At 5:30 PM, World Ford Sales Manager finally located my key for my car.

I feel that I was detained at the dealership an unreasonable amount of time, and am very unhappy about the way I was treated. It was a big game to them.

Dear Sirs,

On August 26 I went to the World Ford Dealership. I arrived at 12:30PM in Pembroke Pines Florida. My intent was to purchase a 2006 Ford Expedition that was advertised in the paper for $20,895.00. This price was advertised in the Miami Herald on Saturday, 26. I have attached a copy of the Advertisement. Stock #6X48767. When I arrived at Ford, I met a Ford salesman named XXX. XXX proceeded to show us a 2006 Black Ford Expedition which he believed to be the model that was advertised in the paper. My wife, XXX, and I took this 2006 Expedition for a test drive. The time was 1:30 PM. When we came back, XXX requested that we give him our car key, so the used car appraiser would evaluate our car for trade in value.

After about an hour, the sales manager in charge obtained the paper work, and sat down to discuss our options. The sales manager said that the car that we test drove was not the car in the paper, and proceeded to try to sell us a different car at $27,995.00 with a interest rate of 8.95 APR. I told the manager, that I wanted the car that was advertised in the paper, and explained that I was ready to purchase the vehicle.

The manager told us that he had a red expedition on the dealership that was the correct one for sale, and told XXX to go look for it. XXX, my wife and I proceeded to walk around the dealership, XXX was unable to locate the car, anywhere on the lot.

The time now was 2:00 PM. We sat back down with the manager, and he proceeded to try to sell us a different car again, not the advertised sale car. I said, since you do not have this car I came in to purchase, I said thank you and proceeded to leave the new car showroom.

When we asked for my car key back from the appraisal, xxx, was not able to locate it anywhere. He went to the sales desk, used car area and tried to contact the appraiser. After several hours of waiting for my key to be returned. I felt I was being detained against my will.

The Lost Keys Routine - For many years, the misplaced keys routine was standard. The salesman gets your car's keys when you go on the test drive, long before any real negotiations commence.in the event negotiations aren't going your way and you want to leave, the keys are unfortunately mislaid. The new or used car manager launches an intensive search, while your salesman turns the screws. (yea this is the drill)

This Ford dealership had no intentions to sell the 06 expedition advertised in the Miami Herald.

I contacted Ford Motor Company, their response below.
