We have a 2001 kia sportage that had a engine service light come on, the tachometer wouldnt move and the cat - converter was red hot, engine shut off.
Took the sportage to tuffy, we wanted a diagnostic run on the car to see what is wrong. They said they found the problem changed plugs and wires and 2 coil packs, charged 633.00 and said that was the problem and we wont be on the side of the road again. Also they rotatated our tires and fuel induction and told us we needed pads. We did not ask for this, only to find out what was causing the problem.
Well here we go again! Sept 1 the car wouldnt start we had to have it towed to them. They said that it was the timing belt and it will be 386.00 more dollars. This was the 3rd time we had told them about the problem we had, after they supposengly fixed it the first time. If they went over the car the first time to find the problem they would have found the the timing belt needed to be replaced but they didnt check that, so now they are charging us more money for their mistake!
I dont think that it is fair business. How they can get away with this. I feel like we got a big fat rip off and a 633.00 oil change. They sure didnt fix the problem other wise the light wouldnt have come back on and started all over again.
