If you are considering purchasing a Kia, it is likely because you are looking for a reasonably priced, reliable transportation alternative. Don't do it.
I have never owned a car less reliable than a Kia. My 98 Sephia has been in the shop over 18 times. The entire brake system has been replaced, the transmission replaced, and brake pads replaced on 6 different occaisons. Numerous other problems have occurred as well.
Despite the fact that I have had the car for 4 years, it has only 28,000 miles on it. It now sits behind my garage, unused (yep, it's dead again - transmission shot for the second time) simply waiting for the day when I make the final payment, receive title, and can have it junked.
In the end, I will have paid nearly $14,000 dollars to drive a car less than 30k miles.
I'd advise anyone considering a Kia to review the experiences of other owners.
