My mother had called me one day a few months ago in tears. I stop by her house to check on everything every now and then, and on one such occassion we had went out to eat in her car. I noticed that the brakes were squeaking some, so I suggested she take it to my mechanic to have the pads and shoes checked out. She had gotten 'hooked in' with one of Just Brakes "$99" repair advertisement.
When she got there (suprise, suprise) they told her that it would take $1,248 to fix it. She calls me hysterical. I ask to speak to the person who had given her the estimate. I told him in no uncertain terms he was not to touch that car, and that I would be there shortly to follow her to my mechanic's place of business to have any needed work done there.
In the meantime, he had told here there would be a minimum $75 charge for the "inspection"??? Fortunately, I had been eating lunch with a friend of mine who is an attorney.
When we got there and she informed us of this, my friend pretty well took care of that on short order with a few legal threats. We took the car to my mechanic, and had the work performed for a whopping $258 (to include new pads and rotors).
My advice, based on my experience and the experience of many others who have shared their experiences here-NEVER EVER use these guys.
