My husband and I purchased a 97 Dodge Intrepid from Calcars here in Evansville IN, we later got a Chevy Corsica. Now were having our 4th child and needed a bigger vehicle but did not want to go to Calcars, there vans were not that nice and by the time they would add all the financing charges and all that it would total out to be as much as going to the Chevy dealer and purchasing one with a waranty with 100,000 less miles and stuff.
So we purchase a van from the chevy dealer and trade the intrepid in and they paid it off well then comes the corsica which we never drive so we let them have it back, now Astro Financial who say they are just a financing company that help out Calcar customers, is calling saying they are selling it or auctioning it off and we will still have to pay the full balance. Can they really do that? Astrofinancial say they are not the same as Calcars which is a Buy Here Pay Here Car Lot but yet if you go out to Rockford IL. They are at the same building with a Calcar lot in front of it.
So then comes the harrasment. David Smith is the guy who works for Astro Financial who keeps calling, the calling has now slowed down since I threated to get a lawyer, but he was calling 3 times a day here at my house and 5-6 times a day at my husbands work and said he would continue to do this till we pay them off, and that it didnt matter if I told him to stop calling that he could call all he wanted and that this would go on your credit, yeah if its bad it can go on your credit but if you pay it off it doesnt go o your credit.
So today Citi emails me saying someone keeps inquiring on our credit reports so I look and it says Calcott's??? I call the number and the lady answers, keep in mind this is the same address as Astrofinancial and Calcars in Rockford, and says Calcotts how may I help you, I ask why are you running my credit well she preceeds to tell me yet again David Smith is continously running my credit and obvisly trying to figure out where exactly I went throught to get the new van we got from the chevy dealer. I ask her why she answered the phone Calcotts and not Astro and she said they have different lines but yes they are all together.
Now my quistions are first can they sell it and make us pay the whole amount? Second can they run our credit without our consent? Can they keep harrassing us? And should I hire an attorney?
I will say the people in the Evansville Calcars Lot are nice and friendly but I will also say not because of my bad expierence with them but be very cautious on buying a car there, when they add the financing charges and everything else you will pay close to 6,995.00 and it will have over 100,000 miles on it and the hide the flaws when they sell it, after you have done signed the papers and less than a week goes by there coverups will start being noticable, with the intrepid we kept smelling gas and they told us that it was were it had been sitting so long, come to find out it was a fuel rail which was $450 for part and labor and if we didnt get it fixed ASAP the mechanic said it could catch on fire at any time. You get no warranty and they have no compassion.
