I entered Safeway Motors yesterday and told the dealer that I was a first time car buyer with new driver's license and wanted a mechanically sound car that is within the $1000 range.
The dealer showed me a 1996 Dodge Neon Highline 4-dr sedan with 94000 miles on it. He said that it had no mechaniclaly problems as far as he knew.
Well, I test drove the car and thought it was alright, but then after driving for 15 minutes on the highway, the car stalled. I restarted the car and then it stalled again. A police car stopped and I showed him the papers, and told him that I jsut bought it from the dealers. He told me that the car was salvaged and that cars with salvage titles should not be driven on the road.
I was very disturbed because after 30 minutes or more of talking with the car dealer about how important it was to me that i get a mechanically sound car, I could not believe he sold me a car that was labelled as junk for parts only.
This would be a good warning for all the consumers out there who are in danger of being ripped off by this company. Stay away from safeway motors!
