I bought a 2004 Ford Ranger with 25 miles on it.in August the truck would not start. It wouldn't even turn over. I had it towed to the dealership where of course they could not find anything wrong with it. They said they waited a little while and it started up just fine. The next week the same thing happened again. Another tow and the same visit to the dealer.
This time they replaced the computer modules and programed the keys and said that it was fixed. About two weeks later, the same problem again. After two more tows and several calls to Ford about this inconvenience (which was a waste of time) the service department got the 'BIG GUYS' from Ford technical on the line and the wiring harness was replaced.
During all of this I had requested a buy back from Ford and asked them why they did not stand behind their slogan. They told me that I would just have to keep bringing it in when the problem occured to be fixed. They would not be able to do anything else other than that.
Now just in the last three days my parking brake light has been coming on at random, the stereo works when it wants to, the engine light comes on and the gas light is coming on. Off to the dealer I go, again.
I shouldn't be surprised that they wouldn't back their products if they lie about the 'quality being job one' then they will lie about everything else as well.
