I had bought a 2002 zx2 from Bradley Ford on 2-2-03. Since then i had my car in the shop a good 1 and ahalf years out of 2 years i had own the car.
I lost numerous jobs because of the unreliable vehicle that i had purchased. After numerous attemps to fix the car (atleast 28times) in the 2 year period, couldnt find the problem.
I had notified Ford manufactor and Bradley Ford in writing and on the phone, that i would like a refund or a new car. They refused to help me.
Being a single mother at the time, i had no choice but to drive my car, i could only afford a rental car for alittle while. So on the way to the store for my tooth, the car stalled as that was one of the main problems that i had reported 2 months after purchasing the car, which was the cause of me running into a palm tree.
The police were called and normally they are supposed to write a ticket for something, but i showed the officer my 4 inch thick file of all the deffects my car had. He called his sargent and they bith said no way should i get a ticket for buying a lemon.
My car was not totalled like the insurance claim man had stated. After going to see it at Bradley Ford. It had about 900.00 damaged to the front. Thats it. But they already stated to me that they would not work on my car anymore.
So then the insurance had made a deal with me to salvage title the car to me for 800.00, which they took the payment out of the settlement i had finally recieved after 5 months. But then had the car repoed from my property, with out any notice and said i was S.O.L.
So now after losing my job because of always having vehicle problems, paying 400.00 a month for 2 years and paying for rental cars and insurance for 2 years, i am left with bad credit, no car losing everything, i worked so hard for.
Causing my marriage to fall apart (well a big part of it) Not being able to go buy a car with my signature like before, and having a hard time getting my children to school everyday and all of the above.
Finally i found a lawyer to take my case. Bad choice, they were friends with the attorneys from ford. They settled for an unreasonable amount from the manufactor 10,000, included thier cost which left me 6000.00.
The total of the car i owed was 19,000. I probably put out 20,000 in the time that i had owned the zx2. My world started really falling apart now. I had called Bradley Ford and asked for help getting into another car, they didnt even want to talk with me.
1 and a half years go buy, i pulled myself out of the hole alittle bit and bought a 2001 ford mustang from another dealer. Which included a 2 year warrenty. This car needs some attention and i took it to Bradley ford to work on it, thinking that they might of improved thier work habits.
Well more or less, they still refused to work on this car, new employees new about me and my lemon car that THEY sold me. ANd all treated me like i was a murderer. The next town with a ford dealer in about 100 miles away. Now what do i do?
My husband got a job at the other dealership Bradley Chevrolet that Mike Bradley owns, worked one day, sold a 45,000 truck in the first 3 hours working for them, say Mr Bradley, at the end of the day, the manager called him into the tower and fired him.
What can I do, i work hard for every penny i have and they treat me like this. Its the law they are supposed to replace the car after 3rd time trying to fix it. No justice here at all. Were are my rights as a US citizen?
Please help me get justice.
