Took my 2000 Audi A6 into local Wal-Mart for an oil change before leaving for a trip to Ga. The following day. Left early the next day before sun up following 301 and I95 N. After crossing over the Georgia line the damper plate fell off.
In order to change the oil this plate must be removed from under the engine and then reinstalld with 8 screws/bolts after the oil change service is performed. Apparently some inept service employee neglected to install and/or tighten the quick-connect hold down screws.
Submitted a claim to Wal-mart Claims Management, Inc. For $300.00 for parts and travel time to Orlando to pick up new parts. They refused to pay saying It wasn't their fault.
I quote:
" our investigation into this matter indicates that neither Wal-Mart Store Inc., nor its subsideriesnor their employees were responsible for your alleged loss. Therefoe we are respectfully denying your claim."
I drove into Walmart to have my oil and filter changed with a damper plate in place and 90 miles later the damper plate came loose and disappeared somewhere on I 95 in Ga.
Somebody is lying regarding what happened and not taking responsibility for their or their employees actions.
