I bought a 95 Ford Windstar van at Jdbyrider in Seymour. They charged too much for it in the first place, but it was junk and I needed a vehicle.
When I test drove the van. I noticed that the brakes were making some strange noises. They took it in and supposedly fixed the abs system. Said a mouse had ate the wiring. When it was time for the warranty to run out. It started doing the same thing.
The a/c was bad in it... They fixed it. The ignition went bad in it. They fixed it. And when the warranty was out on it. The transmission went out of it. They said they would fix it for a fee!
My account was transferred to Madison, Indiana because Seymour store got closed. So I had to take my van to Madison and leave it there so they could diagnose it.
This was on a Friday... They were supposed to diagnose it on Monday. I finally called them back about a week later, because they didn't let me know what was going on. The guy had the nerve to tell me that my van wasn't there. He didn't know where it was.
I was 3 days late once... I called them and told them that I would be in there to pay the payment that day. They said okay.
About 30 minutes later. I went out to start the van. So I could go pay my payment. Within that 30 mins after I talked to them. They had clubbed my van!
I went back in the house. Called my husband... Then I called Jdbyrider. Asked them how I was supposed to pay the payment if I couldn't get there to pay it. Also asked why they didn't come to the door to get my payment or at least tell me what they were doing.
My husband called them back and told them: it took you less than 30 minutes after she called for you to come and club it. The club better be off in less than 30 minutes after he came to pay the payment.
I waited 30 minutes. They didn't show up. I went out pulled the steering wheel down (tilt steering), and pulled the club off. I drove to the branch where I got it. Walked in. Handed them the club and told them: if you are going to club vehicles for being 3 days late, you better learn how to club them. And walked out.
Anyway, I finally got the van paid off!!! I had a count down going on when it would be paid off. They have ruined my car buying experience for life. I will never buy another vehicle that I can't pay cash for.
To sum it all up: it was a rip-off. They were taking money out of little kids' mouthes. Some people need a vehicle and don't have credit to get it, so they have to go there. And they take advantage of it.
I will never refer anyone to them. I'd rather give someone my own car than send them to Jdbyrider. I'm a very dissatisfied customer!
